Breasts Augmentation … Ten Things You May Not Know By Michael A. Devlin, MD on June 30, 2015

1. Breasts Come in all Sizes

From little to too big and everywhere in between breasts come in different shapes, sizes and looks.  American Annie Hawkins, owns the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest breasts, wearing an astounding 48V!

2. Breasts Are Often Asymetrical

It is completely normal for women to have asymmetrical breasts. It is rare to find a woman that has an identical mirror image from the left and right breast. The majority of women have one breast that is larger than the other, sometimes as much as half a cup size. Breast asymmetry is one of the top reasons for breast augmentation.

3. The Majority of Women Are Not Happy With Their Breasts

According to a study in the Huffington Post, 70% of women are unhappy with their breasts because of issues with size, whether too small, too big or drooping.  Of these 70% of women, one third thought that bigger breast boosted women’s career and one half thought men preferred them.

4. Women Are Wanting Larger Cup Sizes

America's cup runneth over. The average bra size has jumped from a 34B 20 years ago to a 34DD in 2013, according to a new survey by lingerie retailer Intimacy.  Since the average weight of American’s has increased it makes since that the breast will increase in size too.

5. Most Women Wear The Wrong Sized Bra

Intimacy’s study also found that 85 percent of women are wearing the wrong size bra. It seems that once women get fitted for a bra one time they tend to continue to buy that size regardless if they have gained or lost weight.

6. Bras Have Not Been Around As Long As You May Think

One hundred years ago , on Nov. 3, 1914, the United States issued a patent for the first modern bra. But when observing this milestone, perhaps we should instead celebrate the greatest perk (pun intended) that bras provide: For 100 years, women have been able to experience the joy of taking off the constricting garment after a long day

7. The Majority of The Breast Is Composed Of Fat

We all obviously know what breast look like, but what exactly are they made of? Breast are largely filled with lobules, that are filled with alveoli, which is where the milk is produced.  The rest of your breast is mostly a lot of fat, ligaments and connective tissue.  Do you still feel sexy?

8. Wear A Bra For Beast Results

Did you know that you could be spoiling the shape of your breast implants by sleeping on your side and not wearing a bra?  While there is no hard and fast rule about sleeping in a bra at night experts will agree that the additional support won’t hurt and may actually help in reducing sogginess that occurs over time.

9. Breast Implants Have Been Tied to A Better Sex Life

Yes, ladies you read this right.  According to a survey by RealSelf last year, 61% f women said that they are now having more sex after receiving a breast augmentation ( breast Implants ) and 70% said that their sex life satisfaction has improved.

10. Breast Augmentation Is The Number 1 Cosmetic Surgery Procedure In The United States

According o the American Society of Plastic Surgery report that was recently released, there were 286,250 breast augmentation procedures preformed in 2014. Breast reduction and breast lifts come in 5th in order with 134,033 procedures performed in 2014.
