Brabella By Michael A. Devlin, MD on January 24, 2018

What is Brabella?

Braline fat is the annoying little area that sneaks out of bikinis and bras. Its located by the underarms and back bra strap. Heredity and weight gain play a small role in the development of braline fat but even the fittest of women can be bothered by this pesky bulge.

Brabella is Kybella which is injected into the “Bra-Fat” at the upper edge of the breast and upper arm.  The Brabella procedure reduces the fat pocket that is bothersome to women.

Kybella works by permanently dissolving fat cells. It uses a form of acid that naturally occurs in the body, after injection, the cells are metabolized and expelled.  Once fat cells are destroyed in a particular area, they do not come back, making Kybella a permanent solution for small bothersome areas.

Kybella is administered as an in-office procedure. The injection process takes about 10 minutes so it can easily be done on your lunch break. Most patients will experience swelling in the treated areas for a few days, although 1-2 weeks is not unusual. Patients may experience mild tenderness at the injection site. Since there is no need for anesthesia patients can resume all normal activity immediately after their treatment. Patients can expect to notice a difference in one to two months.

Ideal candidates for Kybella for armpit fat, bra fat need to be within 10-15 pounds of their ideal weight, are healthy and are not grossly overweight. Kybella can also be used for stubborn fat areas on the thighs, buttocks and stomach.
