In the meantime, let’s take a look at some signs you might be a good candidate for a mommy makeover.

Abdominal Stretch Marks and Loose Skin

It’s common for women to develop stretch marks and loose skin on their abdomen as a result of pregnancy, leaving many women feeling insecure about their bodies.

A mommy makeover may include an abdominoplasty, or “tummy tuck,” to remove loose skin, and with it the accompanying stretch marks, creating a tighter, smoother abdomen.

Have Had a C-Section

Women who have had a Caesarian section, or “C-section,” are often left with a significant scar on their lower abdomen and a loss of strength in their abdominal muscles.

A mommy makeover can be used to remove a C-section scar and tighten the abdominal muscles.

Sagging, Deflated Breasts

Pregnancy and breastfeeding changes the shape, volume, and firmness of the breasts. Women who find their breasts look deflated or sag after having children may benefit from a mommy makeover.

Mommy makeover candidates considering a breast lift or augmentation should be at least six months removed from breastfeeding to achieve the best results from their makeover.

Done Having Children

It’s preferable that women who undergo a mommy makeover are done having children since pregnancy and breastfeeding after a mommy makeover can undo the results of surgery.

While it is possible to have a mommy makeover between pregnancies, it’s important to understand that another mommy makeover may be needed to continue to enjoy the benefits of a the procedure.

Are At Least Six Months Postpartum

It’s normal for women to want to get their pre-baby body back as soon as possible after pregnancy, but it’s essential to give the body time to recover and heal. Candidates should be at least six months postpartum before undergoing a mommy makeover.

In Good General Health

The procedures used in mommy makeovers are invasive. Ideal candidates should be in good general health and free of certain health conditions, like uncontrolled diabetes and high blood pressure. In addition, ideal candidates are non-smokers and drink little to no alcohol.

A Healthy Weight

Candidates for a mommy makeover should be at a healthy weight and should have already tried getting back into shape before electing to have surgery. Those who have reached a healthy weight but are unhappy with such issues as loose abdominal skin or deflated breasts may be good candidates for a mommy makeover.
