FACELIFT SURGERY

How RestoreLift Rebuilds Your Skin Instead of Just Pulling It Tighter

Learn what led me to create my trademarked, natural-looking approach to facial rejuvenation, and how it works.

Any surgeon can perform a facelift that makes skin tighter. That part of a facelift is well understood, and when it's done well, it's powerful. I still perform traditional facelifts here in Little Rock, and they work.

But over two decades of doing this, I kept running into the same limit.

"Tightening skin doesn't give skin anything back. It repositions what's already there."

And a lot of what makes an aging face look tired isn't loose skin; it's lost structure, deep in the skin itself. You can pull that skin tighter and still be working with skin that's thinner and more depleted than it used to be.

So I built my approach around two changes. First, I put more focus on the jowls and neck, where so much of the aging a patient sees in the mirror actually lives. Second, I added a step that uses something your body already makes: your own growth factors. That combination, lifting plus rebuilding, is what I trademarked as RestoreLift.

The Root Cause

What Actually Makes a Face Look "Tired"

When patients tell me they look tired even when they're well rested, they're usually describing something structural, even if they don't have the word for it.

Young skin is thick and springy because it's full of collagen and elastin, the scaffolding that sits underneath the surface and gives skin its bounce and depth. The cells responsible for building that scaffolding are called fibroblasts. As we age, fibroblasts slow down, collagen production falls off, and skin gradually loses that underlying structure. Sagging and volume loss get most of the attention because you can see them in the mirror, but this quieter thinning of the skin's own foundation is a big part of the tired look, and it's the exact part that a pull-and-tighten approach alone doesn't touch.

Fibroblasts
/noun/

The skin cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin. They're most active when we're young, which is why youthful skin is thick and springy. As fibroblasts slow down with age, skin gradually loses youthful volume.

That's the gap I wanted to close.

The Science, Explained

So What Are Growth Factors?

Growth factors sound exotic, but they're not. They're signaling proteins your own body already makes, carried in the platelets in your blood. When you get a cut, platelets rush to the site and release these proteins, telling your cells to multiply, lay down new collagen, and build fresh blood supply. It's the same repair system your body relies on every time it heals itself.

For RestoreLift, I draw a small amount of your blood at the start of your procedure and concentrate the platelets in it. The resulting platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is then reintroduced into the areas I've treated during your lift. In plain terms: I take your body's own repair signal and place it exactly where I want your skin to rebuild.

The Result

What That Does for Your Skin

Those concentrated growth factors do something a lift on its own can't. They wake your fibroblasts back up. Instead of stretching older, thinning skin tighter and hoping it holds, you're prompting the skin to produce new collagen and improve its own circulation over the months that follow.

That's also why RestoreLift results tend to keep settling and improving rather than looking their most dramatic on day one. You're not only repositioned, you're rebuilding from the inside, on your body's own timeline.

A Common Question

Why I Rely On Your Own Biology Instead of Filler

Patients often ask why I don't just add filler to a facelift instead. It's a fair question, and fillers absolutely have their place: they restore volume where volume is genuinely gone, and I use them thoughtfully in the right situations.

But it's worth understanding what a filler actually does. It adds material beneath the skin to add volume to a hollow area, sits under the surface without changing the quality of the skin itself, and your body slowly dissolves it over time. Pushed too far, it can create the inflated, obviously worked-on look that most of my patients walk in specifically hoping to avoid.

Growth factors do the opposite. Instead of adding something foreign to plump you up, they help your skin rebuild the collagen you were born with.

That's the whole difference between looking filled and looking restored, and restored is almost always the word my patients are reaching for when they say they want to look like themselves again, just rested.

That single distinction is the reason I built RestoreLift around your own biology rather than around a syringe.

One of my patients, Sharon, put it in her own words when she came to see me:

"My biggest concern was not to look like I'd had a facelift. I've seen a lot of overdone people where you can immediately tell, and that's not what I wanted."

Beyond the Results

A Gentler Procedure

Working with your body instead of against it changes the experience.

Because RestoreLift doesn’t require the same intensity as some traditional approaches, many patients are candidates to have it done right here in my Little Rock office using local anesthesia and oral sedation rather than general anesthesia. Recovery also tends to be quicker and more comfortable. For someone who has quietly put off a facelift for years because general anesthesia or a long, hidden recovery felt like a bigger commitment than they wanted to make, that’s often the detail that finally moves things from someday to a consultation on the calendar.

Your Consultation

Is RestoreLift Right for You?

RestoreLift suits the same person a facelift has always helped: someone noticing loosening skin, jowls, and softening definition through the lower face and neck, who wants to look refreshed rather than like a different person. And because the PRP helps your skin rebuild its own collagen, you’re not only getting back definition but healthier, thicker skin to go with it.

It isn't the only path, and it isn't right for everyone. For a younger patient with only mild laxity along the jawline, a mini approach may be all that's needed. For some, a traditional facelift is still the better fit, and if that's you, I'll say so plainly.

Want to explore your candidacy?

If you're in Little Rock, Conway, or Hot Springs and you've wondered whether you could look like a well-rested version of yourself without looking done, I'd like to talk with you about whether RestoreLift is the right fit. I also offer virtual consultations for patients who aren't local, so we can start the conversation from wherever you are.
