Have you felt like your eyelashes are too short and thin; or have you noticed that your eyelashes are getting lighter in color or they’ve lost their fullness? Perhaps you’ve noticed some or all of these things about your eyelashes.  If you have, it’s time to consider purchasing Latisse® at Devlin Cosmetic Surgery.

Latisse®

Latisse can help you grow longer and fuller lashes. By applying the solution to the base of your eyelashes each night, you can grow your eyelashes and never need to apply fake eyelash products again.

Originally intended to treat glaucoma, Latisse is a topical treatment of bimatoprost, which has been proven to stimulate eyelash growth. Although the precise mechanism of action is unknown, LATISSE® is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase, and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase. Latisse works by prolonging the growth phase of your eyelashes, making them grow longer and fuller than they would normally. This is a prescription treatment, so it may not be right for everyone; people with certain eye conditions will not be good candidates.

How to use Latisse

Every night, you can gently apply a thin layer of Latisse to the base of your eyelashes, similar to how you would apply mascara and eyeliner. Simply applying three drops to each eyelid for four weeks will make your lashes noticeably darker, thicker and longer. You should see dramatic results after eight weeks or more. Each Latisse bottle comes with a supply of disposable applicators for your convenience.

*Do not apply Latisse to the lower eyelid, as it could stimulate hair growth beyond the eyelashes. For thin or “barely there” eyebrows, we recommend applying Latisse in the same manner.

Possible Side Effects

A few people have an itching sensation in their eyes and some experience redness. More rarely, there can be eye dryness, darkening on the skin, and redness on the eyelids. Sometimes the iris pigment becomes darker, changing your eye color slightly and this will probably be permanent. Sometimes there can be darkening on the upper eyelid where you apply the Latisse. However, this would probably enhance your eyes like eyeliner.

If you stop using Latisse, your eyelashes will gradually return to their original length, thickness, and color.

Latisse is available in two convenient sizes:

  • 3ml bottle which is a six week supply
  • 5ml bottle which is a ten week supply
