Interviewer: Well, we are back with Dr. Michael Devlin of Devlin Cosmetic Surgery. And he's got the remedy for if you're tired of looking tired. He says it can be done on your lunch hour. That's what's amazing to me. So what's this procedure called? Dr. Devlin: Well, it's really not a procedure as much as it's used dermal fillers. As we age, we tend to lose our volume in our face and that's what causes the little grooves and things. It also thins out your skin, so you lose dermal thickness. That causes the dark circles under your eyes. So, a lot of people will use concealers, a lot of different creams to mask the problem, when they don't even realize that you can actually treat the underlying problem, which is the volume loss. So, we'll go in with some dermal filler; and there's a lot of different fillers out on the market right now. Some that last anywhere from six months to ones that last even up to 5 to 10 years. Interviewer: Oh, wow. Dr. Devlin: That you can use and that's a procedure that we can do even during your lunch, you come in. It has a little bit of a local anesthesia in that, so you feel very comfortable during the procedure. And you can walk away looking 5 to 10 years younger. Interviewer: Is that not amazing? You can do this on your lunchtime. You can go into his office, and look like you need a couple of good nights' sleep, and then come back looking quite refreshed. Dr. Devlin: Yeah. We have patients that come in all the time and they say, "I'm just tired of people saying, 'Hey, are you okay? You look so tired.'" It was like, "No, I don't feel tired." But they look tired, because they lose that volume in their face. And the only way to really treat that problem is to restore that volume. Interviewer: Okay. Is there anybody who would not be a good candidate for that? Dr. Devlin: Well, anybody who's on any blood thinners or something like that would not be a good candidate for that, because it does involve injections. But a lot of times even if they're on blood thinners, with their doctor's clearance, they can be off them for about 10 days or so, and then still have the procedure done. So, other than that, just about everybody's a candidate for some sort of filler. Interviewer: Okay, so if I'm interested in doing that, what's the first step? What do I need to do? Dr. Devlin: Well, the first step is to call our office, to come in for consultation. Everybody is different. Everybody's facial feature is a little bit different. Their underlying causes may be different. It may be a combination of having to use something like Botox and a dermal filler to treat the underlying cause or even sometimes, some bleaching creams that we'll use to treat all of it. Sometimes we use all different modalities, but everyone's a little bit different. So, you come in to our office for your consultation. And we're actually having a special offer right now for the first 20 callers who call. Interviewer: There you go. Dr. Devlin: If you buy one syringe of Perlane, which is a filler, you can get the second one for half price. Interviewer: Okay. So again, it is called a dermal filler... Dr. Devlin: Yes. Interviewer: A non-surgical procedure that Dr. Devlin says you can go in on your lunchtime and get done, and come back looking like a million bucks, I hope. Dr. Devlin: Non-surgical. Interviewer: All right. And it's not a temporary fix like concealer. It's something that has a little bit longer... Dr. Devlin: No, this is longer and like I said, we have different fillers that last different lengths. Do we have a picture for before and after? Interviewer: Do we have that picture? Okay, well there we go. Dr. Devlin: Yeah, and you can see right here... Interviewer: That's a before and after, wow. Dr. Devlin: This is the before and after. And what we did is we went in and augmented the areas around her eyes, and it's called the teardrop area; and we also augmented her cheeks. If you restore that volume, you pretty much can get rid of those little bags under your eyes, and those little volume losses. And it can make you look a lot younger. Interviewer: And who doesn't want to look younger, right? Dr. Devlin: I don't know. Interviewer: All right, well thank you so much for sharing that. That's amazing, actually. All right, Dr. Devlin can be found at the Devlin Cosmetic Surgery Center. You see the information there on your screen, and that's his web address or email address, I should say. Phone number 227-8811 if you're interested in a consultation, to decide if that would be for you. Well, thanks so much. Dr. Devlin: Thank you. Interviewer: We appreciate you coming in. Dr. Devlin: Thank you. Interviewer: All right.
